TURKISH TECHNIC will Provide Total Maintenance Support for B737-700 A/Cs of Iraqi Airways

TURKISH TECHNIC signed; line maintenance support, engineering support and component pool agreements with Iraqi Airways, which will cover all technical support needed to maintain the airworthiness of two B737-700 aircrafts. Line Maintenance work will be carried out at the Baghdad International Airport, Baghdad, Iraq.

TURKISH TECHNIC officers expressed their belief in the potential of Iraqi Airways, and TURKISH TECHNIC family is glad to support their neghbour’s national carrier.

Iraqi Airways officers declared that they are extremely happy to have agreed terms in taking total maintenance support from TURKISH TECHNIC, one of the strongest maintenance organizations in the region.

TURKISH TECHNIC, signed a C Check and a D Check maintenance services agreement, which will cover a base maintenance C check and a base maintenance D check on B737-400, with Sky Airlines. Maintenance work will be carried out at TURKISH AIRLINES TECHNIC’s facilities in Istanbul, Turkey.

TURKISH TECHNIC, signed a landing gear overhaul and spare landing gear support agreement, which will cover two B737-800 landing gears, with SunExpress. Overhaul work will be carried out at TURKISH AIRLINES TECHNIC’s facilities in Istanbul, Turkey.

TURKISH TECHNIC had signed Landing Gear Maintenance Services agreement for B737-800 aircraft with SunExpress for 5 years. Landing Gear Removal & Installation, Landing Gear overhaul activities are carried at TURKISH TECHNIC’s Istanbul facilities. TURKISH TECHNIC also supports SunExpress with its spare units during shop visits of Landing Gears. It is planned to complete 9 sets’ overhaul 5 years program.

TURKISH TECHNIC and myTechnic signed Technical Service, Material and Slot Allocation Agreement

Technical Service, Material Sales/Lease, and Hangar Slot Allocation Purchase Agreement, valid for five years, was signed by Dr. Ismail Demir (General Manager) and Dr. Fuat Oktay (Executive V.P. Commerce) on behalf of TURKISH TECHNIC, and by Daglar Cizmeci (Board Member), Cankut Bagana (Board Member) on behalf of myTechnic on January 6th, 2009.

The agreement includes technical service purchase, material sales/lease and hangar slot allocation based on the capacity requirements of both companies.

Dr. Ismail Demir, the General Manager of TURKISH TECHNIC said,” Aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul industry is being nominated as one of the leading sectors in Turkey. Pratt & Whitney and TURKISH AIRLINES TECHNIC Form MRO Joint Venture 

Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. company (NYSE: UTX), and TURKISH AIRLINES TECHNIC Inc. (TURKISH TECHNIC), a TURKISH AIRLINES company (ISE:THYAO), today signed a joint venture agreement to build a major aircraft engine overhaul center in Istanbul. The new facility will be Pratt & Whitney’s eighth commercial engine overhaul center. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

The joint venture facility, named Pratt & Whitney TURKISH TECHNIC Aircraft Engine Maintenance Center [will overhaul V2500 and CFM56® engines. Construction will begin in early 2008 and the facility will induct its first engine in 2009. Once fully operational, the center is expected to overhaul up to 200 engines per year. Much of TURKISH TECHNIC’s experienced staff will be employed at this new facility.

After underlining the recent developments in Turkish aviation sector, TURKISH TECHNIC Chairman of the Board Metin Kilci said “We believe that the brand new and exciting partnership of TURKISH TECHNIC together with Pratt & Whitney as one of the leading engine and parts manufacturer will bring a fresh breath to Turkish aviation sector.
